WOOT!!!!!!!

I FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I finally got the book The Host by Stephanie Meyer!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, she is the author of Twilight, but this is her first adult book. So far I am on page 53 and it is so fawesome! It is also confusing because Wanderer is an alien inside Melanie Stryder. Melanie was part of the resistance and she is sort of resisting changing into Wanderer. Melanie can still talk and think for herself, but Wanderer is supposed to be doing that for her. The only thing Melanie is supposed to do is let Wanderer use her body. It is all very weird having two minds in one body. And Wonderer is starting to like the guy Melanie likes… so it’s a love-triangle with only two people! In case you were wondering (haha… wondering… Wonderer…) this is what it says on the inside flap.

          Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Our world has been invaded by an unseen enemy. Humans become hosts for these invaders, their minds taken over while their bodies remain intact and continue their lives apparently unchanged. Most of humanity has succumbed. 
           While Melanie, one of the few remaining “wild” humans, is captured, she is certain it is her end. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, was warned about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the glut of senses, the too-vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn’t expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
          Wanderer probes Melanie’s thoughts, hoping to discover the whereabouts of the remaining human resistance. Instead, Melanie fills Wanderer’s mind with visions of the man Melanie loves- Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body’s desirers, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she has been tasked with exposing. When outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off on a dangerous and uncertain search for the man they both love.

OMG!!!!!!!!! Doesn’t that sound so cool!?!?!?!?! I wonder what will happen to Melanie and Wanderer… and Jared… and GAH! I need to read this book now!

P.S. I’m going to Panama City Beach, Florida on Saturday!
