Superman and Clark Kent

Posted in Superheroes at 11:16 PM by Amy~la

I was watching Superman III when I noticed something odd. In that movie, Superman splits into two people, evil Superman and good Clark Kent. During that battle of good vs evil, I noticed that they would only show one person’s face at a time. That says that they used body doubles a lot. (Well it was made in 1983.) Then there was a split second where both or their faces can be seen. I was baffled because I wasn’t quite sure how they did that back then. And it look real! Then I went back and paused at the right time. You can clearly see that Clark Kent doesn’t have legs. See…

Pep Rally

Posted in School at 3:19 PM by Amy~la

Today in 4th block we had a pep rally! This pep rally is for the biggest game of the season. (Well, we know we are going to win because the other team sucks. Anyway, the Northside Patriots are playing our rival team, the Columbus Blue Devils.) It started off as a normal pep rally, with the band playing while people sit down. Then the drum line came out, in masks. They did some awesome playing and dancing. Then the cheerleaders did their thing. And the dance team did whatever they did. Then the drama class did something. Half of the class was dressed as people from Columbus High. Then the other half came out. They were dressed as people from Northside. (Columbus is the “smart” magnet school in town.) Then a voice said “Patriots you have 15 minutes to complete the SAT. Blue Devils, you can have as long as you like.” Then the Patriots did the whole “Thriller” thing to the Blue Devils. It was so funny. (The best part was that my sister was playing the part of a Blue Devil.) Then they went off the court. Then some dude with a big flag that had a giant “N” on it was waving the flag through the whole gym. Then he started a mosh pit! Then the assistant principal stopped it and the drum line played again. That drum line is awesome! Then the cheerleaders did this lame cheer, and then the pep rally was over.

It was an amazing pep rally!

P.S. My sister playing the part of a Blue Devil is funny because for her fresman year she actually went to Columbus. Columbus is a fine arts school. I would much rather be in the engineering program at Northside.

Today at dinner my sister told me the best thing ever. She said that she saw the Twilight preview and it “actually looks kind of good.” So I think I might have another Twilight fan coming…

And today in Biology I was asked the weirdest question. Out of no where, a girl named Maddi (no not my friend Maddy, this is Maddi) asked me if I read Twilight. I said yes. Then she asked if I owned them. I said yes. (They are right here next to my bed.) Then she asked if she could borrow Eclipse. So, naturally, I said yes. Then, a girl named Brittany asked if she could borrow Twilight. I said yes to he too. So tomorrow I won’t have Twilight or Eclipse on my bookshelf. (Wow, the only book in the Twilight series that I haven’t loaned out to someone was New Moon. I let Cassie borrow Breaking Dawn a while back.)

OMG! Doesn’t that moon look like the Death Star? (BTW: Mimas is a moon orbiting Saturn.)

So far my weekend is so bubbly-making! Friday night I went to go see High School Musical 3. I loved it! It was even beter than the first one! Then I spent the night with Maddy. We had fun and did stuff. Then I went shopping with my mom. We went to the bookstore. I got Bogus to Bubbly. I AM ONE OF THE PEOPLE THE BOOK IS DEDICATED TO! I was so excited when I saw my name on that long list. I told my friends that I’m famous now. Heh heh…

Update: My detention was scraping gum off the stairway…

Bad Names in Books

Posted in Stuff n Junk at 4:06 PM by Amy~la

Filch: You’re under arrest.
Draco: What? Why?
Filch: For improper use of naming.
Draco: What on Earth do you mean?
Filch: Scorpius! How do you expect a kid to get ANY respect with a name like Scorpius?
Draco: I managed to get by.
Ginny: No you didn’t.
Draco: Shut up. In any case, it’s you who ought to be arrested, Potter!
Ginny: I don’t know what you’re talking about. Albus Severus is a perfectly good name.
Draco: *Snort* Yeah, for a toilet bowl disinfectant.
Girl on the Right: Shut up, both of you. At least you haven’t had to grow up with a name like Renesmee.
Ginny, Argus, Draco: …You win.

Just wondering…

In 5th grade, I took the little ochrastra class in the cafateria once a week. Well, now I am in 9th grade, and I kind of miss the violin. (I didn’t play any more after 5th grade.) But, it’s not the violin I actually miss. It’s really that I want to know how to play an instument. And I could have had that if I stuck with the violin. So maybe if I pick it back up, I will feel a little more accomplished. I would just have to convince my parents to get me a violin and promise not to quit, again. (Now that I look back, I only quit playing because Jennifer quit. I wanted to be just like her. She became a cheerleader, then next year I became a cheerleader. She played softball, the next year I played softball. So, I feel that I missed out on some things.)

Today I took the PSAT. They used the big words that I didn’t understand. Then there was a couple of questions where the answer wasn’t one of the choices. The math was easy, though. It was so easy a caveman could have done it. Then they gave us our report cards for the first 9 weeks. Then they had to delay lunch because testing ended at 11:15 ish and lunch starts at 11:05. (Well, my lunch does, after all I do have first lunch.) Then I had to go to Biology where we watched a video that had lions having sex in it. Then I went to Business Essentials and had a fire drill. It was hot outside! So, that was basically all that happened today…

P.S. All A’s on my report card!!!!!! 🙂
