See you in twenty.

The last line of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987) (the one before “Returns”) is Superman saying to Luthor, “See you in twenty.” That scene was filmed in 1986. Coincidentally, twenty years later, in 2006, the next Superman movie was released.

When I read that, I was shocked. I think it’s fate that made Superman Returns to take twelve years to finally take off. (Yeah, Superman Returns took 12 years, 3 directors, and multiple name changes. It was going to be Superman V, Superman Reborn, and Superman Lives.)

P.S. Kryptonite is real! Kryptonite is sodium lithium boron silicate hydroxide with fluorine. Well, scientits have found a mineral with all of that, but minus the fluorine. And it was a white powder rather than a green crystal. This white powder can’t be called kryponite because it has nothing to do with the real element of krypton. So it is called jadarite.
