Books in 2009

Posted in Books, Harry Potter, Stuff n Junk, Vampires at 11:11 PM by Amy~la

It’s almost 2010. So I will post the books I’ve read in 2009. The vampire books are in red, the books about magic are in blue, the books with magic and vampires are in purple, the books about fairies are in green, and the sci-fi books are in orange. And I have no idea what color to make Liar because it’s like sci-fi, but it’s not. And if I created a category for what Liar is about, I would totally give away the ending.

1. How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier
2. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
3. Otherspace by David Stahler Jr.
4. Hunted by PC Cast and Kristin Cast
5. Animal Farm by George Orwell
6. Skinned by Robin Wasserman
7. Anthem by Ayn Rand
8. Magic or Madness by Justine Larbalestier
9. The Tales of Beedle the Bard by JK Rowling
10. Cycler by Lauren McLaughlin
11. Magic Lessons by Justine Larbalestier
12. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
13. Magic’s Child by Justine Larbalestier
14. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
15. A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare
16. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by JK Rowling (reread)
17. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
18. City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
19. City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
20. Blood Promise by Richelle Mead
21. Crashed by Robin Wasserman
22. Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld
23. Liar by Justine Larbalestier

Tall Escalator at CNN

Posted in Stuff n Junk at 6:39 PM by Amy~la

Today I took a tour of the CNN building in Atlanta. To get to the top floor, where the tour begins, you have to ride a big escalator. This escalator is the world’s tallest free-standing escalator, standing eight stories tall. They didn’t tell us this until we were at the top. Thanks for helping my fear of heights CNN! (But the tour was cool. I saw people who were on the air while I was in the studio.)

Romeo and Juliet

Posted in Stuff n Junk at 6:53 PM by Amy~la

I was watching Romeo + Juliet (the version were it takes place in present-day but they still talk in Shakespearian.) The part when Juliet is “dead” in the tomb and Romeo is standing over her, about to poison himself makes me really mad in that movie. In the play, Romeo kills himself, Juliet wakes up, then Juliet kills herself. Well, in this one it goes, Juliet wakes up, Romeo kills himself, Juliet kills herself. Why didn’t Romeo realise that Juliet was awake before he drank the poison? Her head and hands were moving and her eyes were open! And, this is a question about the original and all other versions, Romeo and Juliet knew each other for four days! They met on day one, got married on day two, Romeo killed Juliet’s cousin on day two, Romeo is banished on day two, Romeo and Juliet “confirm their marriage” on day two, Romeo is gone on day three, Juliet is told she will marry Paris on day three, Juliet takes the potion on day three, Romeo sees Juliet in the tomb on day four and kills himself, causing Juliet to kill herself as well. FOUR DAYS? Really Shakespear? Only four days? (It could be up to seven days because Romeo could have been gone for longer than a day…) Still, seven days? One week? Really Romeo and Juliet?

Disney Princess

Posted in Stuff n Junk at 9:14 PM by Amy~la

I was just watching a video where this person was talking about the Disney princesses, and I have one question. Why is Mulan considered to be a princess? She wasn’t born royal and she didn’t marry royal. She hugged the emperor, does that count? And I also learned that sometime Alice from Alice in Wonderland is considered a princess. Disney also excludes many REAL princesses. So why put non-princesses and exclude real ones?Anyway, here is the video I watched.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Final Results :D

Posted in School, Stuff n Junk at 5:55 PM by Amy~la

Yesterday I had two finals, French and Chemistry, and I had my AP US History final the other day. Today I got the grades back from all three. In French I got a 99, in AP US History I got an 82 (I thought I failed, so I love that grade), and in Chemistry I got a 96. That means my French grade is still an A, my AP US History grade is still a B, and my Chemistry grade had gone up from a C to a B! (And I also have an A in drama, so I have 2 A’s and 2 B’s.)

New Layout

Posted in Stuff n Junk at 10:52 PM by Amy~la

I changed the layout to a Christmas one! I felt it was appropriate because, well, it’s December.

P.S. Why are there so many ladybugs in my room? They are so annoying!

So I have a ‘Multiples of 13’ page on this blog, but should I have a ‘Multiples of 1’ page? Think about it…

Tomorrow I have a swim meet, but there is one problem. Today I was walking from my bus stop to my house and I had to hop the fence to get into my house. I landed weird, but I felt fine, so I continued my day. Well, it started hurting like hell about an hour ago. Now my dad says it is sprained, and I can’t swim tomorrow. Coach is going to be so happy. (Sarcasm)
